Bethanny was born in southern California, where she knew even before the age of three she wanted to pursue a career in the performing arts. In third grade, she began taking ballet classes at Expanding Harmony Dance Studio in Brookings, South Dakota, at which time dance quickly moved from a hobby to a passion. Under the direction of Melissa Hauschild-Mork, Jerilyn Ommen, and Tabitha Hudson-Wedemeyer, Bethanny was able to study choreographic creation and various technical theater elements as well as ballet, tap, modern, jazz, and musical theater dance. She has choreographed numerous shows (Annie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Bye-Bye Birdie), designed costumes for local theater companies (Annie, The Music Man, Anne of Green Gables), assisted in casting for American Girl "Isabella" dance promotions, and created various concert works (The Slant, In The Shade of A Tree, Let There Be, What Can I Do) both in workshop and for performance. Bethanny is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She loves teaching and strives to create a classroom environment that is fun and encouraging while always challenging students to grow to the next level.
