Ballet and Variations

EmmaRose Forbus began her classical ballet training at age three in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At age fourteen, she went on to train full time in Houston Ballet Academy’s Professional Program. After two years of training as a Professional 1 student, she was promoted to Professional 2 with a full tuition scholarship. During this year of training, she performed in Dubai with Houston Ballet in Stanton Welch’s Swan Lake. At age seventeen, EmmaRose was offered a contract with Houston Ballet II. She accepted and went on to perform with Houston Ballet in Stanton Welch’s Giselle, The Nutcracker, and Ben Stevenson’s The Sleeping Beauty. With Houston Ballet II, she enjoyed dancing in Stanton Welch’s Blue, A Time to Dance, and Garden of Mirth, as well as Bluebird, Sugarplum, and Don Quixote Pas de Deux, Raymonda, Flower Festival at Genzano, Ben Stevenson’s Five Poems, and planned on performing The Sleeping Beauty Pas de Deuxand the Russian Girl in George Balanchine's Serenade before COVID-19 shut the Academy's doors for the remainder of the year. EmmaRose is currently dancing with Colorado Ballet as a Studio Company member.
