Erika Palidar grew up in Massachusetts, where she studied ballet with
Jaqueline Cronsberg and Ellen Everett Kimiatek. She fell in love with ballet and spent summers studying with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB). After graduating from the Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Erika completed her bachelor’s degree at Brown University where she studied psychology and political science and earned her Juris Doctor at The American University in Washington D.C. She
attained her law license with the Massachusetts Bar and has been a practicing attorney for over 20 years.
Along the way, Erika did not forget her passion for movement and creativity and became a certified Pilates instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She was published in the Yoga Journal in 2011; appeared in Yoga Vibes as a prenatal yoga demonstrator; led crowds of over 250 at yoga festivals; won recognition from the U.S. Army for her therapeutic work with wounded Soldiers.
When Erika’s oldest daughter began studying ballet, she found herself unable to resist jumping into a class. It was like returning home. That year she performed with her daughter in The Nutcracker with the Texas Metropolitan Ballet. Erika was surprised to find that her previous ballet training never really left her and that her yoga training in visualization, breathwork, and freedom of movement, strengthened her ballet technique. She continued studying ballet at the Colorado Ballet Society and is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Erika’s philosophy on dance and life is to never stop learning; she hopes to pass this on to her students.
