Mary Beth Duncan

Ballet, Conditioning, & Stretch

Mary Beth Duncan began her classical ballet training at the age of 7 at Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi. A year later, she and her family moved back to Little Rock, Arkansas where she trained for many years at the Academy of Ballet Arkansas under the instruction of Kurt and Linda Hathaway, Eleanora Pohkitonova, Olivier Munoz, and was fortunate enough to work briefly with Susan Jaffe from American Ballet Theater who was one of the ballerinas who inspired her to dance. Her training consisted of all styles of classical ballet, including Vaganova, Balanchine, Cecchetti, and Bournonville. Mary Beth began dancing soloist roles with Ballet Arkansas at the age of 15, which included roles in The Nutcracker, Giselle, Ballet Under the Stars, Elvis Has Left the Building, La Bayadere, Paquita, Stars and Stripes, and many others. Mary Beth has been a dance educator in Arkansas since 2004 and is passionate about offering safe technique that enables the dancer to perform to the very best of their ability while also preventing injuries. She is also Progressing Ballet Technique certified. Mary Beth is excited to be in Colorado and work with the talented dancers of Colorado Ballet Society.
