Jazz & Tap
Samantha Shusman grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia where she started dance classes in a small studio at the age of three. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop which then led to student teaching at the age of fourteen. She went on to teach at other studios in the Philadelphia area including La Luna, where she became the Assistant Director for their children’s program. There, she studied with world-class instructors, danced competitively, learned new styles of ballroom dance, and attended Dance Masters of America workshops. Samantha has performed for parades, community nonprofit organizations, and at Six Flags Great Adventure and Sesame Street theme parks. Living so close to Center City Philadelphia and New York City allowed Samantha to take master classes and experience the broad world of performance as well as social dancing. Samantha also obtained an AA from Bucks County College in Psychology which helps her connect with her students and draw the best out of them so that they can develop a deeper passion for the art of dance.
