Elevate Productions, in conjunction with Colorado Ballet Society, is pleased to announce our return to the stage with Rodger's and Hammerstein's charming classic, The Sound of Music. Sure to delight audiences of all ages, performances will take place June 25th-29th, 2021.
Resident CBS instructor Bethanny Jorenby-Shea will choreograph with CBS Owner and Artistic Director Patricia Hoffman producing. Both are exceptionally pleased to introduce Kristene Dey as Director and Amy Rockey as Music Director.
All roles, including those of the Von Trapp family and Maria, are now open for casting. Auditions and callbacks will take place on April 14th, 17th, and 18th. Details regarding auditions, including more specific time frames and character descriptions, can be found in the audition packet below.
Due to COVID preventing us from announcing this show earlier, allowing potential cast members ample time to prepare audition songs and monologues, auditions will be modified to lower stress and anxiety while quickly filling roles to begin production. Auditions will take place using a workshop format that allows potential cast members to learn a portion of music from the show, then present the learned material. Cold readings from the script will take place in lieu of monologues. You can find more information about what to expect at auditions in the packet.
To prevent overcrowding during open auditions, please sign up for an audition slot HERE.
Rehearsals for The Sound of Music will take place Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays from April 19th-June 13th. An occasional weeknight rehearsal may occur. After June 13th, performers must be available for rehearsals each weeknight and on weekends. Roles MAY be double cast to prevent performer fatigue.
We cannot wait to begin production and hope you join us in being a part of this memory-making musical!
