Auditions are open to all CBS dancers in Levels Pearl-8. Auditioning does not guarantee a role in A Colorado Nutcracker. Nutcracker Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 12:45-5:30pm. If dancers are unable to attend the audition, they will not be cast in the 2026 production.
To Sign Up
- Dancers must be signed up via The Parent Portal. The audition can be found under "Masterclasses".
- The audition fee is $30 per dancer.
Dress Code
- Female dancers must wear their uniform level leotard, pink tights, pink canvas ballet slippers and hair in a classical bun.
- Please note: Dancers of color may wear skin-colored tights and matching canvas ballet shoes if they prefer.
- Male dancers must wear a fitted white athletic t-shirt, black fitted tights, and black canvas ballet slippers.
Check In/Out Times
- Level Pearl & Diamond: 12:45-3:30pm
- Level 1a-3a: 2:00-4:30pm
- Level 3b-4a: 3:00-5:30pm
- Level 4b-8: 4:15-6:30pm
Casting will be sent out the following week after auditions along with a Nutcracker contract outlining the performance commitments. A few things to keep in mind when auditioning for A Colorado Nutcracker:
- Performance Packet Meeting on Saturday, November 7 from 12:00-1:30pm.
- Performance fee of $225 due September 1 (Non-refundable)
- $50 recasting fee per dancer, if a dancer drops the performance after fee due dates.
- $75 recasting fee per dancer, if a dancer drops within 30 days of the performance.
- Media fee of $75 due November 1 (Non-refundable)
- Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays anytime between 6:00-9:00pm and/or Saturdays between 12:00-6:00pm.
- Weekly rehearsal schedules will be sent out with exact rehearsal times.
- Dancers are allowed 3 absences total, consecutively or otherwise. Any additional absences may result in dancers losing their part.
- Dress Rehearsal dates: November 21 & December 1, 8, 12, 15, 19 (Times TBD)
- Performance Dates: December 22 @ 7:00pm & December 23 @ 2:00pm & 7:00pm
