Colorado Youth Ballet (CYB) is the resident pre-professional ballet company of Colorado Ballet Society (CBS). Founded in 2003, CYB was established to provide exceptional performance opportunities and advanced training for dedicated young dancers seeking more intensive ballet education.

Dancers ages 10–18 (Levels 3b-8) are invited to audition for the company. Once accepted, members commit to an increased level of training through additional classes and rehearsals while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, artistry, and dedication. Company dancers serve as ambassadors for CBS both on and off the stage.

CYB members perform featured roles in the company's annual productions of "A Colorado Nutcracker" and the Spring Performance, while also participating in community outreach events and special performances throughout the season. The program is designed for dancers who aspire to continue their training beyond high school, whether through university or collegiate dance programs, trainee programs, or professional ballet companies.

Under the artistic direction of Kate Walsh, former Principal Dancer with The Sarasota Ballet, Colorado Youth Ballet has presented numerous full-length classical ballets, including Patricia Hoffman's "A Colorado Nutcracker", "Coppélia", and "Sleeping Beauty". The company has also premiered several original productions for Colorado Ballet Society, including Walsh's "Don Quixote"(2023), Charles Maple's "Cinderella" (2025), and the world premiere of "A Colorado Rodeo" (2026).

Through exceptional training, meaningful performance opportunities, and a commitment to artistic excellence, Colorado Youth Ballet prepares young dancers for the next stage of their artistic journey while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the art of ballet.
