Katie started dancing at Colorado Ballet Society at 4 years old under the direction of Patricia Hoffman and then Kate Walsh. She trains in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and acro. Katie is a member of Colorado Youth Ballet, Connexus Dance Collective, and Competition Ensemble. Some of her favorite roles include Bride in Appalachian Spring, Stepsister in Charles Maple’s Cinderella, Spanish Demi Soloist in the Nutcracker, and Lead Fandango for the 2024-2025 competition season. Katie has attended numerous summer ballet intensives at Colorado Ballet Society. She has also attended summer ballet intensives at Brigham Young University and Ballet West. Katie is an Esther Geoffrey scholarship recipient. She has been a member of multiple award winning group ensembles, including Fandango which took first overall at Universal Ballet Competition and Threshold which took first overall at American Dance Competition/International Ballet Competition. Her contemporary solo “Out of My Hands,” choreographed by Nichole Bennis, took first overall in the senior division at Ballet Championships of America. Dance has been integral in helping Katie become the person she is today. After spending 4 years in the teacher assistant program, she is excited to teach and share her love of dance with young dancers.
