Nicole Norman is a versatile dancer who is passionate about merging artistry and athleticism. Graduating from University of Missouri Kansas City, she obtained her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. During her time at UMKC, she performed in works choreographed by Ulysses Dove, Jose Limon, Christopher Huggins, Christian Denice, Caroline Dahm, Gary Abbott, DeeAnna Heitt, and Nicole Clarke Springer of Deeply Rooted Dance Theater. Notably, she performed in honorable roles such as Chair 1 in “Vespers” set by Alfred Dove and Sphinx in “The Winged” by Jose Limon set by Roxanne D’Orleann. On an international level, Nicole has trained with Ballet BC, Orsolina28, SALT, NorthWest Dance Project, Perry Mansfield, Peter Chu, Flockworks, and Limon. Working closely with DeeAnna Heitt, head of UMKC Dance Department and former company member of Alvin Ailey, she has served as a dance assistant and rehearsal director. As a company member with CLOUDS Dance Company, she has performed at the Nelson Atkins Art Museum, Charlotte Street Foundation, Kurveball Choreographers Showcase, 26th Anniversary of Dance in the Park, and more. Nicole is excited to share her energy, knowledge, and love of movement with students of Colorado Ballet Society this July.
